So far, the break is going great. Over the past 2 days, the Creeptones have demoed more than 20 new songs, and plan on putting up snippets of each one, the plan being that people will listen and give us advice on which ones to concentrate on and develop first. I’ll post more as it comes together more, but that’s the plan right now.

I have officially met my pre-mandated requirement for use of the word Plan with this statement.

In the meantime; here is a sample from the forthcoming album; a product of a muti-day session much like those recently passed that, at this point, is favored by ACM records to be our first single. Enjoy!

Well I’m Home from Rowan.

I’m also unemployed. Apparently the opening of the new Shoprite in my town has relieved enough of the business at the old one i worked at to the point where they don’t need me. Not complaining, this break is going to be awesome now!

I can Concentrate on the Creeptones and the New band i’m starting.

No name yet, but it’s going to be straight Prog, and i’m going to play drums.

Like this (Recorded on Monday!):

So i plan on getting in 160 more hours of Practice time that i wouldn’t have had if Shoprite had been able to hire me. Sweet!

ANYWAY, back to fixing the musical lair for while I’m home…

AND…. done.

Well, my semester has come to a close, with the exception of a final critique in Ceramics tonight and a Speech i’ve already written tomorrow…

…and I’m here until Tuesday. Can you say… PRACTICE TIME!

I received some awesome news a few days ago too. I was contacted by a small record company, Fruits de Mer records,  a few weeks ago that wanted to press one of my songs to vinyl to release in Europe. Well, yesterday i got official permission from the company I’m singed to (ACM Records) to allow this. It’s going to happen!  I’m really excited, there’s not may people my age that can say they have a song pressed on Vinyl.

I’m really looking forward to Break too, because I get to play with the Creeptones again! Maybe we’ll finally be able to finish our CD for ACM. Also, I’m going to be playing drums in a new band; the band the former guitarist of Aethereal is starting. This happened because I tried out for Aethereal, but the band broke up before i could finish the process. This new band should be really fun, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Anyways, what was i doing for the next 5 days?

Oh yea, PRACTICE TIME!

If anyone needs me, i’ll be locked in my practice room for the next 120 hours straight

Whew…

Pasic was SO FUN….

......sooooo many cymbals that i want....

….. but as soon as pasic got over, it was work time. LOTS of work time. Writing a 53- page paper and a 10-minute speechon top of keeping up with practicing music for the percussion ensemble concert last monday monday and small group concert last Tuesday work time.

But now it’s the short thanksgiving break, and it’s very welcome.

…because as soon as i go back i have a recording session Sunday night, and i have to mix it for the next day, along with a recording from last week. Then, i have to write 3 essays for Wednesday, practice for the Wind Ensemble concert thursday, and prepare to go continue working on the Creeptone’s first CD at the Barbershop Studios next weekend…

My head is about to explode…. and i’m probably gonna get Dean’s “Fire” speech again soon…

only Rowan percussionists know what that is.

Well, time to get cracking then…

PASIC

Posted: November 7, 2011 in Uncategorized

Going to PASIC for the first time this week, and in combination with having Tuesday off for Election Day, that measn that I only have one day of class this week.

Which is Today.

And I’m done. …Well except for Percussion Ensemble, but that doesn’t count, fun stuff i don’t really consider a class.

PASIC’s gonna be awesome!

Anyway, those of you who are finding me through the picture of me playing guitar on the FPA website may wonder why i’m excited about a Percussion Festival. Or some of you might be wondering (and have just found out) what the heck PASIC is.

but anyway, I’m actually a percussionist. Professionally, i am a guitar player at the moment through the Creeptones, but percussion is my main instrument.

“Wait, that’s not a guitar!”

“Yes, this is the instrument i can actually play.”

“Oh. Can you play chopsticks?”

“…no.”

In the words of the Famous Doug Mapp: “I Digress”

Anyway, i’ll put up some pictures from Pasic when i get back.

So… ummm…..yea….

Well Then….
